Events Companies Make Britain's Best List

Mixing it with Tesco, MediaCom, BT, Marriott Hotels and other heavy weight brands, the live event marketing sector triumphed last month when the Best Green Companies in Britain were revealed in the second Sunday Times Green List - the definitive guide to businesses with the most radically improved environmental performances. Two event based companies made it onto the list, both recognised as Best Small companies with a Medium environmental impact.

Nimlok, one of the UK’s leading exhibition & events display providers (and Event Supplier & Services Association member), ranked 19th out pointing PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cannon UK and AXA PPP Healthcare. Meanwhile G20 host venue ExCeL London, (members of the Association of Event Venues), came in 44th out of 60 in front of ASDA, Eurostar and other household names.

"It's fantastic to see both an AEV member (ExCeL London) and an ESSA member (Nimlok) in this prestigious list,” comments EIA’s Tom Treverton. “The incredible work of these companies within the environmental field is symbolic of a UK events industry that takes matters of sustainability extremely seriously.  The countless inventive green initiatives and self-regulative policies of events industry stakeholders embodies the forward-thinking sprit of a sector, that strives to improve its environmental, social and economic credentials.

Live event marketing is the only medium that brings pro-active buyers and sellers together, eyeball to eyeball in an environment of business expectation. As spend on traditional marketing channels continues to contract, it is live event marketing that marketers are turning to deliver the ‘engagement’ and ‘brand experience’ that directly influences and subsequently wins business. In spite of challenging trading conditions, the sector has delivered increases in visitor audiences and remains confident that businesses aiming to hit targets, including ‘green’ targets, will turn to the only five sensory medium that really does deliver buyers.
